Policy & Public Service
Reading statute, regulation, and budget documents closely, then saying plainly what they mean for the people living under them.
The degrees behind it
A Master of Public Administration and a Master of Education Administration & Policy from the University of Georgia, plus bachelor's degrees in Political Science, History, and International Affairs with a minor in International Human Rights & Security, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership Management from the University of North Georgia. The full list is on the education page.
Legislative work
As Legislative Aide in the Office of Representative Eric Gisler (2025 to 2026), I track constituent cases, legislative priorities, and stakeholder communications, and research state and municipal policy proposals. Most of that work sits at the local level: zoning and land use, small city services, and district-level issues. Most of the job is turning dense legislative and constituent material into briefings and recommendations somebody can act on, and coordinating the outreach and partnerships that keep the office connected to the district.

Municipal and state policy research
At the Georgia Municipal Association (2024) I conducted state and municipal policy research for Georgia cities on environmental, broadband, poverty, housing, infrastructure, and community development questions, analyzed city and legislative data in Excel, Stata, and R, and helped run a broadband seminar for Georgia municipalities. That work also produced my article on qualified immunity.
Grants and federal funding
As Community Impact and Grant Specialist for the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government, I managed ARPA-funded housing, homelessness, and youth development projects and monitored nonprofit partner compliance with federal requirements. I wrote more than $20M in HUD grant applications, helped secure $8M to $10M in federal funding, and built a capacity-building program for small Athens nonprofits. Earlier, as a Summer Grant Fellow at Historic Athens, I authored three National Endowment for the Humanities applications. Since 2024 I have also served as an invited USDA grant reviewer.
Research and service
I researched education and human rights in the GLOBIS Human Rights Lab at UGA alongside Dr. K. Chad Clay, and worked for four years as a research assistant to UGA faculty, collecting, coding, and analyzing historical and program data, organizing disability-history archival material, and contributing to two published history articles. Outside of research, I led a voter outreach team across Georgia for Planned Parenthood Action Fund's Vote Tripling campaign, and served as president of the Phi Alpha Theta history honor society.
